In this digital age, rarely are secrets kept this well!
Over the past month, a Youtube user called “iamamiwhoami” has emerged, posting a series of 3 (so far…) cryptic and creepy videos. The videos seem to show spooky nature scenes, owls, an attractive blond woman writhing in some sort of mud and licking tree sap, and all sorts of other everyday scenes. And then there’s the music. The ambient, electronic, soothing and spooky soundtrack to the minute-long clips only adds to the mystery, and seems to be leading viral sleuths to believe a popular musician may be behind this as a puzzling publicity stunt.
The #1 culprit was Christina Aguilera, whose new album Bionic is rumored to be a new creative direction for the “Genie…” pop star. But when her team wholly denied any involvement, other suspects were considered, including Nine Inch Nails, Lady Gaga, Goldfrapp, MGMT, Bjork and more.
Oh, and the titles of these clips… just mysterious sequences of numbers (a la LOST). Take a look and decide… who IS “iamamiwhoami“??
