BRITNEY AND PUSSYCAT DOLLS: THE CIRCUS REVIEW!

We went to the CIRCUS and want to share our experience with you!  Let’s start off by saying – we LOVE Britney and have loved her since she sported those pig tails and plaid skirt in the “…Baby One More Time” video, so obviously we jumped at the chance to see her at Staples Center in Los Angeles last weekend.  To be perfectly honest, we weren’t that pumped to see Pussycat Dolls.  It just seemed like there would be no way they could compare to Britney.

Well, we were pretty surprised!  The Dolls sang live (which was unexpected), and Nicole especially sounded great.  They danced their butts off for about 45 minutes straight performing all their hits including “Don’t Cha,”  ”Buttons,” “When I Grow Up”  and their current radio hits “I Hate This Part” and “Jai Ho.”  The Dolls really knew how to work the crowd and keep the energy level way up.

After their set ended, we sat patiently during a short break before the real Circus began – everything from jugglers to contortionists to strong men and clowns.  All that stuff was pretty cool, but the anticipation was building for Britney and we were ready for her to come on!

The lights dimmed, and Perez took over in his welcome to the Circus video message.  It was intense!  We don’t know if we’ve ever heard a crowd go that insane.

Brit Brit finally came on and very appropriately kicked off her set with “Circus.”  We’ll set the record straight:  NO, she did not sing.  But she still rocked it!  She seemed incredibly happy and even talked to the crowd a few times.  The dancers were really cool and helped Britney go back and forth on the huge stage.  It looked like a lot of work to do the show “in the round,” but they pulled it off!

We got to dance along to all our favorites like “Boys,” “Me Against The Music,” Piece of Me” “I’m A Slave 4 U” and “Toxic.”   We were a little sad she didn’t do “Womanizer,” but lo and behold she came back and did it for her encore with pyro effects and an explosion of confetti in the air. Overall, the show was an awesome experience.  It felt more like a Vegas show than an actual concert, but we loved that!  Britney and The Dolls were both on point.  Go see the Circus if you can!
