Johnny Cash Rolls In Grave

Here at PopAwesome we love us some POP (duh!), but we also love the classics. You know, the place where music is rooted. Maybe it’s the history, maybe it’s the culture, who knows but the fact remains there are certain songs and certain artists that have found themselves in the “untouchables” category.

You hear about this group every year on American Idol when the unscroupulous judges tell contestants not to attempt the singers that we all know just by hearing their first names… Whitney, Aretha, Michael, Stevie, Mariah and others. Well we should just go ahead and add Johnny to that group — we’re talking about the Man In Black himself, Mr. Johnny Cash.

Yes, we know that Adam Lambert’s masacre of Johnny Cash’s “Ring Of Fire” was sooo last week BUT we were forced to think about it again after perusing Oh No They Didn’t when we were smacked in the face with another brutal beating of a Johnny Cash song. Thanks to the D-O-double-G, Snoop Doggie Dogg, Mr. Cash has been forced to roll in his grave again.
