You could say that The Script have had a busy year. This Irish trio who have already sold over 2 million copies of their debut album went from have virtually zero fan base in the US to dominating TV (9010, Letterman, Kimmel, Alexa Chung, The View, The Today Show), selling out whole tours and personally being chosen to open for both Paul McCartney and U2. We had a moment to catch up with this breakout band to find out a little more about their wishes for the holidays, thoughts on music in 2009 and what they plan for the New Year. Singer/songwriter Carmen Reece has burst onto the pop scene with her debut single “Right Here.” The track scored a #3 spot on Billboard’s Top 40 Dance Chart. Discovered by multi-platinum songwriter and producer Mark J. Feist (Beyonce, Celine Dion), the 22-year-old singer, songwriter and classically trained pianist from London has quickly become one of the hottest and most sought after new artists to emerge this year. Feist says, “Carmen is raw talent, she’s an amazing singer, songwriter and pianist. She truly is a catalog artist that appeals to all ages and that’s rare to come by these days”.

The debut single is just a hint of what’s to come. Currently on a national promotional tour, Carmen is also busy adding the final touches to her debut album with producer Mark J. Feist. Peep The Script’s Music Video Shoot For “Breakeven”

The Script’s new music video for “Breakeven” isn’t out quite yet, but Teen.com got a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot. Watch Danny and Mark talk about the video concept, fan-submitted videos and what is was like performing with a green screen. When asked whose world they would like to look into, Mark answered U2 or David Bowie while Danny joked about Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. Check out the clip below and stay tuned for the official video coming soon!

Star In The Script’s Next Music Video

The Script are about to shoot the video for their new single “Breakeven”, but first they need your guys’ help! Submit a video of yourself singing and/or lip-synching along to the song, and your clip could be featured in the music video. Be creative and do whatever you can to express the emotions “Breakeven” brings out in you — react to the song, make it your own and most importantly, have fun.

If you’re not familiar with the new single, listen to and get lyrics for “Breakeven” on The Script’s official site. You must be 13 years of age or older to participate, and preference will be given to videos with only one person in them. Good luck!

Mika Is Golden

Mika’s highly anticipated new video is here! The UK alt-pop sensation released his video for “We Are Golden,” the first single from his forthcoming album of the same name. The fun clip finds Mika singing and dancing in his bedroom along to his boombox dressed only in his underwear. The singer-songwriter calls the video a tribute to all the years Mika spent dancing around his bedroom as a teenager. “We Are Golden” was directed by Jonas Åkerlund who has also worked with the likes of Iggy Pop, Smashing Pumpkins, and Madonna among others.

We Are Golden, the album, was produced by Greg Wells (Rufus Wainwright, Pink) and recorded at Rocket Carousel Studios in Los Angeles, California. Mika’s first album, Life In Cartoon Motion, was released in 2007 and has gone on to sell over 5.6 million copies worldwide. The songs on We Are Golden have been described as dealing with Mika’s adolescent teenage years and “in a sense is kind of part two” of his first album.
