AFI has just announced that their highly anticipated album, Crash Love, will land in the hands of the public on September 29th. Crash Love will mark the band’s third album on a major label and first since the 2006 release of DecemberUnderground.

With each album AFI continues to push the envelope, silently asking their legion of fans to follow them — and they do. It is rumored that Crash Love will encompass all things we love about AFI while leaving the electronic flair to Blaqk Audio (Davey Havok and Jade Puget’s side project).

Only time will tell what Crash Love will entail, but with AFI the chances of it being fantasic are extremely high! Stay tuned… but first, a message from AFI frontman, Davey Havok:

MEMOIRS OF AN IMPERFECT ANGEL, the 12^th studio album of Mariah’s career,  is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to her RIAA platinum-selling album E=MC² (released April 15, 2008), and her worldwide 10 million selling The Emancipation Of Mimi (released April 12, 2005).  Both were Soundscan #1 debut albums that made chart history for Mariah in the U.S. and numerous territories around the globe.

E=MC² spun off four singles: “Touch My Body,” “Bye Bye,” “I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time,” and “I Stay In Love.” Of these, “Touch My Body” made history when it became Mariah’s 18^th #1 Hot 100 hit, thus surpassing Elvis Presley.  “Touch My Body”’s two weeks at the top also marked Mariah’s 78^th and 79^th cumulative career weeks at #1, which tied Elvis’ long-standing all-time high of 79 weeks at #1, as calculated in Billboard.com.  At the same time, Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles’ all-time high of 20 #1 hits.

In perhaps the most shocking American Idol finale ever the newly dubbed Idol was named, and to the surprise of many, it wasn’t Adam Lambert. Ryan Seacrest read the golden envelope and in that moment Kris Allen became 2009’s American Idol taking over David Cook’s 2008 reign. Congratulations go out to both Adam and Kris for a well fought finale.

A family friend told RadarOnline.com exclusively, “Adam passed away peacefully. He was surrounded by his family, including his wife Kendra, his children, his father and his step-mom, among others.”

David was at the airport Saturday night about to leave for Terre Haute to visit his dying  brother, but his family told David they thought it was more important for him to honor a prior commitment to attend the 12th annual Race For Hope in Washington, D.C. Sunday morning.

David followed his family’s wishes and went to Washington instead to participate in the race, so he was not there when his brother passed away.

Because David had known how sick his brother was, he had left his tour a few weeks back to say his goodbyes to his older brother.

“The family thought that Adam would go much sooner than this, actually,” said the Cook family friend.

“That’s why David left his tour a few weeks back so that he could be with Adam. They said their goodbyes then.”

But Adam, 36, rallied briefly after that and David returned to his concert tour.

“He took a turn for the worse this weekend” says the friend.

Last year, friends of the stricken lawyer, arranged a $45,000 trip on a chartered medical jet to Los Angeles so Adam could see David perform on Idol.

“The Alexa Chung Show” will be a mix of celebrity talk, music and online interaction with viewers. The stakes are high; it’s the most important of nine new series the slumping MTV has in the works. The midday series begins June 15.

MTV’s viewership for the first three months of 2009 is down 18 percent from the year before. The docu-soap “The Hills” is still popular, and MTV is generating modest heat with the competition “America’s Best Dance Crew,” but it has lacked the daily stop-off point for stars that “TRL” provided before its slow demise and cancellation last November.

At its height, during the ‘N Sync and Britney Spears years, “TRL” set the tone for the music business and drew huge crowds to MTV’s Times Square studio.

Chung, who has been on TV shows since she was 18 and now dates Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner, is a fresh face able to relate to both stars and the audience at home, network executives said.

“We just all really fell for her,” said David Sirulnick, MTV’s executive vice president for news and production.

The idea is to introduce Chung’s show at midday for young viewers home for the summer and, if it works out well, move later to an after-school time slot.

Facebook is working with MTV as a partner in the series. MTV wants to use Facebook and Twitter to reach viewers in a way that “TRL” _ which asked viewers to vote on their favorite videos _ could barely touch upon.

“The show will air one hour a day,” Sirulnick said. “but for the other 23 hours we want viewers to be engaged with Alexa and what is on the show.”

Sirulnick said MTV has been searching for the last few years for someone to build a show around.

MTV is going against the grain in that many young viewers are seeking a version of comfort TV, given the popularity of reruns of “George Lopez” and “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” said Brian Graden, MTV’s entertainment president.

Among MTV’s other new shows will be “The Buried Life,” with four men trying to cross out items on a young person’s version of a bucket list; “Gone Too Far,” an intervention series for addicts; and “Disaster Date,” a hidden camera show about people set up on awful blind dates by their friends.

Though the group are now attached to Roc-A-Fella, they will still be Island Records’ artists, according to Digital Spy. The difference is that after the deal was sealed, they have a chance to work with a new team, which includes people from Jay-Z’s label, for their new album.

The group went to Los Angeles on April 27 to start recording the new effort. They reportedly will be helped by masterminds behind Rihanna and Beyonce Knowles’ smash hits. However, no names have been shared regarding the people whom they will work with.

Sugababes have released six studio albums. They have achieved major success in U.K. and Europe, but still can’t break into the U.S. market. Their latest set “Catfights and Spotlights” was dropped in October 2008 and got no release date in U.S. The album managed to peak at number 8 on U.K. Albums chart.

Guitarist Tim Reynolds will play on the album, making it his first recording with DMB since 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets. The album was produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Goo Goo Dolls). Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King will also feature the recording debuts of Rashawn Ross who joined the band in 1996 but hadn’t played on any of their studio releases yet and Moore’s replacement, saxophonist Jeff Coffin who also is a member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones.
